My son is 13 and we live in the Porter/Kingwood area of Houston. We enrolled him in a robotics camp for the week and he loves it.. He has loved and built legos since he was about 3. He is very interested in learning more about the robotics side. Can anyone suggest places for me to get a lot of the technics pieces for him to build with at a huge cost. Also are there any classes or things where he can learn more about this side of legos? Thank you for any info.

Best bargains are at garage sales, but you have to beat the professional pickers. Friends and neighbors may have a box of bricks neglected in a closet. Ask around. Otherwise you are probably going to pay market price. Used bricks are available on bricklink.com, but the prices are responsive to supply, demand and part condition.

Look for a FIRST Lego League in your area. If nothing else they might be able to point you to local resources. Check with your local library and your school's technology or science teacher and the local maker space. And contact the adult LEGO fan club in Houston: https://texlughouston.com/. They'll know what's available and there might even be a FIRST Lego League coach in their ranks.
