Hello all! I have been a GBC builder for a while now, so I speak from experience when I say that the community, although great, has a very steep learning curve. This website offers the best information, however it is slightly overwhelming when you first visit. I'd like to suggest simplifying the main page in the following format:

What is GBC? GBC (or Great Ball Contraption) is a Lego building standard for creating large, complex machines to transport balls from one point to another...

Where can I see some GBC? There are many GBC demonstrations all over the world, and here (link) is a list of them.

Want to make your own GBC? Click here to see the "Getting Started" Guide!

Want to see what other GBC builders around the world are doing? Click here to see a list of GBC modules!

Looking to connect with other GBC builders? Check out the Forums! (link)

By laying out the homepage like this, it will make getting information much easier. I am going to work on some FAQ and Getting Started pages, as well as updating and tidying up a few old pages.

On the Getting Started Guide, it will discuss the standard, what it means, and give examples of simple building advice to make simple modules.

The FAQ should be updated with a few dozen more questions, divided into categories

The GBC module lists would be the current Module list.

There are tons of other changes I'd suggest (I just happen to design website layouts for a living, so I sorta know about this stuff), but for now I think the goal should be making information easy to get for new builders!

EDIT: It also just occurred to me that we should add a Media category on the main page, so that there is a central place to put up pictures and videos of GBC.

Great idea! I've added a link to it on the main page.

Great input! I won't be able to work on it for a few weeks, unfortunately.
