According to Brian Davis' lexicon, a great ball contraption check valve module use some sort of check valves along a linear track to allow cyclic pumping (perhaps be tipping the trough, or moving the roof or floor up & down or forward & back repeatedly). May be a considered a variant of the ball pump.
Requires only limited travel of the pumping mechanism, depending instead on the check valves to retain the balls in each compartment after a single pump cycle.
